A new version of the popular "Meet the Mormons" movie is now showing at the Visitors’ Centre on the Hamilton New Zealand Temple grounds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The film updates the six documentary-style segments from the original movie released in 2014, and includes three new 20-minute vignettes that highlight the lives of additional Church members, including a horse trainer in northeast Utah, a family of entertainers in Japan and an artist who was born in Italy and now lives in the United States.
“The original six stories have been updated with additional footage so they, along with the new stories, are stand-alone features that can be viewed individually,” said Elder C. Michael Zundel, director of the New Zealand Visitors’ Centre.
A new film titled ‘Eight Stories’ is also playing at the visitors’ centre. It is about the on-going lives of the eight Mormon missionaries featured in the popular Church documentary titled ‘The District 2.’
Elder Zundel describes the film as a “continuation of the life stories of the missionaries after they return home from their missions – how their lives have changed because of their missionary service.”
It also recaps their decision to be a missionary and highlights some of their service while on their missions, according to Elder Zundel.
“The film is ideal for teenagers and young adults who are contemplating serving as missionaries for the Church,” he said.
The New Zealand Visitors’ Centre, located in the Temple View neighbourhood of Hamilton, is open from 10 am to 9 pm, Sunday through Friday, and 9 am to 9 pm on Saturdays. Admission is free.
